Shammi Kapoor Passes Away

Veteran actor Shammi Kapoor passed away today (Aug 14) morning. His health went down severely last week and he was admitted at Breach Candy hospital where he was on ventilator support. Kapoor was suffering from chronic renal failure. He was 79.

Shammi Kapoor was one of the biggest and most favourite stars of the 1950s and 1960s known mainly for his romantic films like Junglee, Tumsa Nahin Dekha, Dil Deke Dekho, Professor, Kashmir Ki Kali, An Evening In Paris, Brahmachari, Tum Se Achcha Kaun Hai and many more.

Shammi Kapoor was known for his unique style and high energy. He was also undoubtedly one of the best dancers of his generation and brilliant comic timing which can be witnessed in most of his films.

The veteran actor recently shot with his grand-nephew, Ranbir Kapoor, for the latter’s upcoming film Rockstar.

With the death of Shammi Kapoor, Bollywood has lost a gem today and the ‘Yahoo’ star will be missed by millions.

Audio release of film Gandhi To Hitler

Dr. Anil Sharma and Dr. Pallavi Mishra of Amrapali Media Vision planned the audio release of their film Gandhi To Hitler at The Club in Andheri West.This is after 13 years that LP records was released by them.Jagjit Singh was the chief guest of the event.Neha Dhupia came on time for the event.Rajeev Nigam came with Bali Brahmbhatt.Anil Sharma came with his wife Pallavi Mishra to receive all the guest for the event.Rakesh Ranjan who has directed the film came with Nasir Abdullah. Music director Arvind Mishra came with singer Priya Bhattacharya to be part of this event.Other guest who came for the event were Rohit verma,Anil Dhawan,Mukesh Rishi,Sunil Pal,Abhishek Bachchan,Rakesh Bedi,Shamir Tandon,Bhavna Pani,Raza Murad,Raju Kher and Poonam Pandey.There was a autograph session with the team of film on a big lp record.The film is releasing on 29th July 2011 all over.

Superstar Kareena Kapoor unveils Sony VAIO's latest range ,The more the merrier seems to be the latest mantra of Sony as the company has reloaded its existing lineup of laptops by splashing them with even more colors. An event was held in Mumbai, India today to re-launch Sony Vaio S, C, E and Y series laptops garnished in sixteen different shades. Kareena Kapoor, the brand ambassador of the company together with the MD, Masaru Tamagawa unveiled the new variants. The launch is said to be a result of Sony’s plans to increase sales of its laptop series by twofold in FY11.  The slim and portable Vaio S series comes with a long battery life in five colors to choose from. The light-emitting C series is fitted with an HD screen to display discrete graphics and the six shades it is available in, give it a unique appearance. The Vaio E series aimed at young professionals and students provides an option of processors and four hues. It is said to be apt to carry out everyday computing functions while on the move. And the Vaio Y series claims to be budget-friendly, versatile and fit for beginners. It comes dipped in four distinct shades.

 “Vaio contributes 20% to the total sales revenue of Sony India and hence a very important part of our business. This year, our objective is to ensure that we offer a Vaio to meet the lifestyle requirements of every customer. We have an exciting product line-up of 62 models, a robust distribution network of 1500 outlets and heavy marketing investment of Rs. 50 crore to reach our business target of 5 lakh units in FY11,” commented Masaru Tamagawa, Managing Director, Sony India. Also, the company will launch a new campaign called ‘More colors. More Style to ensure a rise in sales. An investment of approximately Rs. 50 crore is expected to be made for this campaign. Products will be made available in 700 more retail stores in addition to the existing 800 bringing the total to 1500. The Sony Vaio S, C, E and Y series notebooks start at a price of Rs. 47,990, Rs. 54,990, Rs. 27,990 and Rs. 24,990, respectively. They are available at leading Sony authorized retail stores across the country.
